Event Description:

We were eagerly looking forward to re-launching on July 16th our Annual Le Tour de Noir Entreprise bus tour of Evanston’s diverse black businesses and the Small Business, Big Impact Expo, showcasing a cross-section of those businesses and services. Recent events of violent assaults at large public events, however, notably the horrific shootings in nearby Highland Park, lead us to exercise an abundance of caution for the sake of the safety and well-being of the supportive public and the staff and vendors we have invited to join us. Therefore, we are postponing our Tour and Expo, rescheduling for September 17,2022, when it may be more feasible and acceptable to gather in public spaces. Similarly concerned agencies, such as Chicago’s WGN News station, have taken measures regarding their planned public festivities.

For those of you who have registered, your registration will remain in place. Eventbrite will remain open for those who are interested in being a vendor at the newly scheduled date in September.

We are excited to announce the return of the Black Business Consortium Evanston Northshore (BBCENS) 5th Annual Le Tour de Noir Bus Tour and 4th Annual Marketplace & Expo; July 16, 2022 from 11:00am to 7:00pm.

We are excited to announce the return of the Black Business Consortium Evanston Northshore (BBCENS) 5th Annual Le Tour de Noir Bus Tour and 4th Annual Marketplace & Expo; July 16, 2022 from 11:00am to 7:00pm.

We were planning our 5th annual Small Business BIG Impact 4.0, when the pandemic hit two years ago. Several small black businesses had to shut down for months due to the economic impact, and a few closed. We are back to help promote these businesses with two guided trolley bus tours, highlighting black businesses and organizations throughout the Evanston community. After the trolley tour, return to the lakefront to enjoy the Marketplace & Expo with more than 50 vendors. We have changed the venue from an indoor location at the Levy Center to James Park. This is a great opportunity for small business to share resources, network and sell products. Register today as spaces are limited!

Your $100 BBCENS Expo and Market Place registration includes:

Annual $50 BBCENS membership fee.

A listing in the BBCENS printed business directory and on this website to promote your business, promotions and special events throughout the year.

A table, two chairs and signage that will allow you to promote your business at the Expo and Market Place by selling products, offering services, doing demonstrations and sharing information. We recommend that you bring 10x10 tent, samples, products, coupons and flyers. Note: all food sales require a City of Evanston permit.

A free copy of the printed BBCENS business directory.

Space is reserved on a "first come, first served" basis.
